Mortgage/Deed Filing Fees
Varies by County/Parish.  First page:  $35.00 maximum.  Additional pages:  $12.00 maximum per page up to a 10-page document and $8.00 maximum per page after first 10-pages.  Also, an Indexing Fee of $5.00 maximum is charged per grantor and grantee on a document after the first name.  Orleans County/Parish charges notarial archives fee of $10.00 for the first 10-pages and $10.00 for each 5-pages thereafter. 
Document Recording Standards
2 " across top of first page and 1" side and bottom margins.  Other pages 1" margins.  Orleans County/Parish must be on 8 1/2" x 14 paper.  Non-conforming fee of $10.00 ($15.00 in Orleans County/Parish). 
Mortgage Tax
Orleans County/Parish ONLY; Flat fee of $325.00.  Does not apply in any other county/parish.
Transfer Tax
Orleans County/Parish ONLY; Flat fee of $325.00.  Does not apply in any other county/parish.

Real Estate Property Taxes

Annual.  Taxes are due in January in Orleans and December in the other counties/parishes.
